#135 Elevated Master Streams
When the Incident Commander orders master streams into operation, we know that we must make every attempt to set up outside the collapse zone. When we are attempting to reach great height with our stream, the concerns increase due to the higher probability of building materials falling greater distances. In this photo, Jersey City's Tower Ladder 4 sets up outside the collapse zone in a flanking position in an aggressive attempt to get water on the 17th floor of this high-rise building under construction. The added efforts of a narrow tip size on its stang gun supplied by a engine company dedicated to providing "big" water, made the difference.
